Barr. Uchenna James Okafor is the Chairman of Toiletries and Cosmetics Manufacturers group of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), an articulate communicator, resourceful, creative problem-solver with an aptitude to analyze and translate complex business problems with designed innovative custom solutions. Before becoming the chairman of T&C Manufacturing Group, MAN, Barr. Okafor was a Trademarks, Patents and Designs agent at Azubuike Obiekwe & Co. and currently, he is the legal adviser and company’s secretary of Anochemical Cosmetics Industries Limited, Principal partner at Uche Ezenwagu & Co.
Under Barr. Uchenna’s leadership, the group has restructured its strategic action points to
target a set of high-impact priorities, among them: full digital renovation with extensive
improvements on membership management services, positive collaborations and synergies
with regulatory agencies and government parastatals and sister associations for professional development activities. Barr. Uchenna earned his Law degree from Madonna University, Okija, Anambra state, Nigeria after which he obtained Barrister-at-Law (BL) from the Council of Legal Education, Nigerian Law School in 2007. Barr. He is a great Philanthropist and President-Elect, Rotary club of Agbara, Lagos-Nigeria.
Vice - Chairman T & C MFG Group - MAN
Mrs. Augusta Nwabuna was born in Imo-state, Nigeria in 1978. She graduated from Lagos
State Polytechnic in 2005 with a Diploma in Marketing. In 2012, she obtained her Masters in
Business Administration in international Business from Lagos State University. On
completion of studies, she took a career in management. She has worked in different
organizations and in different capacities successfully, specifically as a sales manager, brand
manager, Admin manager and an Area manager.
An active Toiletries and Cosmetics member, she is presently, the Vice-Chairman of the
Toiletries and Cosmetics group of MAN.
Mr. Ikpong Umoh
Chairman, Tech. Committee T & C MFG-MAN
Ikpong Okon Umoh was born on May 27, 1957 and he attended his primary school in Methodist School, Ituk Mbang and then proceeded to Methodist Boys’ High School, Oron, Akwa Ibom state where he graduated in 1974. In the quest to further his education, he attended Mary Knoll Secondary school, Ogoja for his Higher School Certificate and then attended Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger state, before gaining admissions into the University of Ilorin, Ilorin-Kwara State where he graduated with a B.SC in Industrial Chemistry in 1982. During his National Youth Service Corp scheme, he worked
with the Federal University of Technology as an Assistant Lecturer.
After service, he worked with United African Company of Nigeria (UACN) as a Management
Trainee and seconded to A.J Seward Division (now part of Unilever) in Oregun, Lagos State.
While in UACN, Mr Umoh underwent various managerial Trainings and in 1989, he assumed the position of Product Development/Quality Control Manager with the responsibility of Pioneering the development of a complete range of Ethnic Hair Care products for local and foreign markets. During this period he initiated the development of cream and lotion with about 98% local ingredients content.
In 1991, he left the service of UACN and started a chemicals consulting firm – Stellarchem Nig. Ltd. which has grown to be a dependable chemical manufacturer and supplier.
Mr. Ikpong Umoh is an experienced, goal-oriented and Successful entrepreneur with 30 years of proven Management capability. He has expertise in improving efficiency, productivity and competitiveness through evolving and implementing customer-centric Programs to turn around the fortunes of any company. He is currently the CEO/MD of Stellarchem Nigeria Ltd., Chairman, Technical committee, Toiletries and Cosmetics manufacturers group of MAN.
Mr. Josiah Ugbaje
Treasurer T & C MFG Group - MAN
Josiah Ugbaje is a Microbiologist by profession with an extensive knowledge in the field through the study of analytical procedures and techniques at degree level and wealth of work experience, International trainings and workshop with World Health Organization (W.H.O), Association of Industrial Microbiologist of Nigeria (AMIN), Chartered Institutes and professional bodies.
He graduated from Nnamdi Azikiwe University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied
Microbiology. He has worked in numerous pharmaceutical and cosmetic companies and he’s currently the head cosmetics company. He’s currently the Head of Quality Control and
Microbiologist/Regulatory Affairs Skin Beauty Ltd.
Chioma .B. Chiekezie (Mrs.)
Executive Secretary T&C MFG-MAN
Chioma Chiekezie is the Executive Secretary of Toiletries and Cosmetics Manufacturers Group of the Manufacturers Ass. of Nigeria (MAN) with over 12 years of Administrative experience. She is proficient in all administrative task including scheduling and correspondence. Having worked in various organization as a Customer Service Rep., Administrative Assistant and Marketing Executive, she tailors her skills to achieve set goals and target in a credible manner. As an Executive Secretary at T&C MFG. Group – MAN, she reports directly to the Chairman of the Group and liaise with the parent body MAN on
behalf of her member companies. She is also saddled with the responsibility of liaising with Regulatory agencies, promoting cordial relationship between T&C member companies, Federal and State Government agencies, maintaining & running the T&C Secretariat, carrying out all banking activities, managing the group’s social media platforms, website and maintaining all financial records and much more.
Her efficiency in several of her assigned roles has been largely credited with 25% increase in
overall member companies’ satisfaction. Chioma graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka with a B.SC in Botany/Plant Science. During her degree days, she served as the Vice- President of the National Ass. of Botany Students (NABOS) UNN Chapter. This role developed her organizational skill, confidence in working with others and financial management skill. In addition, to her duties as an executive secretary of the group, Chioma is also the assistant editor of the group’s quarterly Newsletter publication titled “Personal Care News-Splash” which has aided in strengthening the advocacy pursuit of the group and has increased the membership and financial base of the group. She’s also active as a virtual assistant to many organization in her community and maximizes her relevance in this emerging economy that is Information Technology driven.
